Did you know that one in six Australians are impacted by hearing loss? That is set to rise as high as one in four by 2060. Hear and Say are specialised providers of audiology and speech pathology for all people with hearing loss – from newborn babies, to toddlers, school age children and adults.
Every year, for Loud Shirt Day (Hear and Say’s fundraising day), we transform our Brisbane studio into a ‘pop up’ art gallery for our annual Art Show. Running since 2012, the event has become a great annual community tradition that supports local artists and the artistic talents of our team, welcomes our local community into our studio, and most importantly, raises much-needed funds for Hear and Say.

Why ‘Back to Basics’?
Every year we have a graphic theme for our Art Show promotional material that represents an aspect of our practice. This year our theme is getting 'Back to Basics'.
As a practice, 2024 has seen us get back to the heart of design and prioritise the fundamental skills that too often get pushed aside in modern practice in a bid to increase efficiency and technological innovation or worse, lost due to a lack of true mentorship and skill-building opportunities for younger designers.
So, when we came across these sketches by our talented architecture team from our regular internal sketching sessions, we felt it was a fitting lead graphic for this year’s Art Show theme.
