At GB-A we create wellbeing by design.
We are GB-A.
Also known as Guymer Bailey.
An integrated practice of expert
architects,
interior designers, and
landscape architects.
For over three and a half decades we have been creating wellbeing by design, bringing life to space and space to life.
We design to enrich community and Country, shaping places that feel meaningful to all Australians, wherever they live. We create environments that influence how people feel, interact, and care for their surroundings - supporting responsible resource use, fostering cooperation, and honouring history while respecting cultural diversity.
At Guymer Bailey we bring life to space and space to life, designing projects that positively impact lives, livelihoods and living environments.
One practice. Three disciplines. Seamlessly integrated design.
When architecture, interiors and landscape are designed together from the start, the result is more cohesive, more functional, and more enduring. That is the Guymer Bailey difference.
Driven by a deep love of design, our multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach of bringing together
architecture,
landscape architecture, and
interiors
allows us to respond creatively and holistically to project requirements to create functional, flexible, and timeless design solutions that seamlessly integrate from the inside out.
ARCHITECTURE
From concept to completion, we create built environments that are purposeful, resilient, sustainable and responsive to their context.
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
We connect people with the natural environment through design that promotes biodiversity and enriches the space between buildings.
INTERIORS
We design interior spaces that are inclusive, practical, and deeply considered. Environments that are valuable to users.
How we design for Genuinely Beneficial outcomes.
Everything we do is grounded in three commitments. Through our design approach, we prioritise human wellbeing, sustainability and cultural responsibility. They guide our decisions, shape our process, and define the value we bring to every project.
WELLBEING
We design spaces that support the physical, emotional, and psychological health of the people who use them. From therapeutic environments to inclusive public spaces, our design decisions are made with human wellbeing at the centre
SUSTAINABILITY
We take responsibility for the environmental impact of every project. That means designing for energy efficiency, biodiversity, and long-term environmental stewardship – not as an add on, but as a foundation of every project we design.
CULTURAL RESPONSIBILITY
We believe that great design gives voice to place and people. We engage deeply with First Nations communities and traditional land owners to ensure cultural values and stories are reflected, respected, and celebrated in our designs.
We design for the places that matter most
Whether you are planning a school, a public park, a justice facility, a correctional centre, or a social housing project, we bring the same depth of thinking and care to every project.
A different kind of design practice
While we’re known for our exceptional expertise and ability, it’s the care and dedication that we bring to the table that our clients appreciate most. To create spaces that inspire, engage, and create a legacy, we put our three key values into practice:
1. CARE
We care for clients, communities, and the environment. As a client-focused practice we care about the ‘why’ behind each project. As such we delve into needs of end users and the key project outcomes that need to be delivered.
2. COLLABORATE
We collaborate to integrate, innovate, and generate better designs. This means integrating our three disciplines and bringing together various disciplines and stakeholders to realise what is possible and deliver better built outcomes.
3. CREATE
We create greener, healthier, better outcomes. We are dedicated to perfecting approaches that create new synergies between the built and living environments, people and structure, beauty and function, purpose, and outcomes.
