I love the total variety of tasks and skills that we are involved with architecture. From 6B pencil concept sketches to detailed working drawings, speaking with plumbers down a hole, or roofers high on scaffolding, to dealing with boardroom executives and mums and dads. It's all there in our game!
Mike Carter is an Associate and a highly experienced Senior Architect. With nearly four decades experience in design, Mike brings significant design nous to the team gained from a diverse range of projects in the education, public spaces, sports and recreation, justice, corrections, and housing sectors. While Mike enjoys varying his design experience, he does also specialise in education and residential design.

Combining his innate ability to create awe-inspiring sketches with a meticulous approach to design and documentation, Mike is known for his ability to create high quality project outcomes that meet the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
Committed to sharing his knowledge and experience with younger and aspiring architects, Mike has been a valued GB-A mentor, sessional tutor at QUT and a guest architect at critique sessions with Griffith University. Mike also runs our Brisbane Studio sketching training sessions where he provides guidance to our younger team to help them hone their sketching skills.
When Mike isn’t working, he enjoys urban sketching and camping.
