What I love about architecture is the opportunity to collaborate with others to deliver a thoughtful, considered and equitable outcome that will engage the end users, integrate the needs of society and the natural environment.
David Ash is a Senior Associate, the Melbourne Studio Design Lead, the Melbourne Studio Equitable Housing Sector Lead, and a highly experienced senior architect. With the benefit of 30 years of experience in architecture and construction, David has developed significant expertise in design, documentation, project leadership, and client liaison.
Over the last three decades David has worked across a diverse range of projects including specialist retail, single and multi-storey residential development, and major institutional projects. During this time, he has become renowned for his creativity, humour, and commitment to achieving great design outcomes.

With a strong belief that designers can be part of a solution to the larger social and environmental issues that Australia and the world face, David is focused in designing for the equitable housing sector and has a keen interest in regenerative design.
Having a desire to progress the architectural industry, David takes on his roles in design advocacy and teaching seriously. In addition to providing mentorship and training within GB-A, David has taught and tutored part-time in a variety of higher education institutions and taught in courses from interior design to Architecture Masters.
When he’s not working, David enjoys drawing, running, hiking, indoor climbing, but not necessarily all at the same time.
