GB-A is an award-winning architecture, interiors and landscape architecture practice working at the intersection of the built form and nature. For over three decades, we have been creating wellbeing by design, bringing life to space and space to life, and designing projects that positively impact lives, livelihoods, and living environments.

Our landscape architecture practice, GB-Landscape, has shaped the industry through projects that merge creativity, functionality, and sustainability. It all began with our groundbreaking design for the Kingfisher Bay Resort and Village on the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island—a project that established our passion and expertise in creating outstanding environments.

Since then, we have provided services across all aspects of landscape architecture and urban design, working in a wide range of sectors, including aged care, commercial, corrections, defence, education, health and wellbeing, housing, infrastructure, justice, public spaces, sports and recreation, and tourism.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will work with other Landscape architects who value connection to Country and community, and excellence in design and delivery, in a supportive, knowledge sharing environment. As part of a small team, this position provides the opportunity to grow into a leadership role in the future.

The role of a Senior Landscape Architect is to lead project teams, in a professional and efficient manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Management of assigned projects and co-ordination of project team and consultants from Concept Design through to Construction Documentation
  • Production of design and documentation in AutoCAD and Revit, and preparation of specifications, schedules and reports;
  • Liaison with clients and/or client’s representative and act as intermediary between clients and staff
  • Co-ordinate with consultants and allied disciplines
  • Undertake project construction phase services such as site inspections & work certifications
  • Responsible for internal job costing management
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to staff with assistance from Principal Landscape Architect
  • Provide assistance with submissions/fee proposals as required
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Adhering to GB-A procedures, processes and office systems, including Quality Assurance
  • Actively attend events and seminars
  • Maintain or be working towards professional registration to ensure professional development criteria is met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Professional Registration with Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), or working towards it

Experience:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience within the landscape architectural industry
  • Demonstrated experience in design, contract documentation and contract administration
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions autonomously with little supervision and correction
  • Demonstrated experience in compiling and writing proposals and submissions

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge and use of Revit essential
  • Verbal and written communication, leadership and training skills
  • High competence in CAD software packages (inc. AutoCAD & Revit); Full Adobe Suite; 3D presentation software (e.g Lumion) and MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
