Every year, our Brisbane studio transforms into a vibrant pop-up art gallery for the annual GB-Art Show held on Hear and Say’s Loud Shirt Day. Since its inception in 2012, this event has become a cherished community tradition, bringing together local artists, our talented team, and the wider community to support a cause close to our hearts—raising much-needed funds for Hear and Say.
Hear and Say is a specialised provider of audiology and speech pathology services, supporting individuals with hearing loss, from newborns to adults. With one in six Australians currently impacted by hearing loss (a figure expected to rise to one in four by 2060), the demand for these services is greater than ever.
The Impact of Hear and Say
A recent conversation with Hear and Say Chief Executive Officer, Sharon Stokell, highlighted the transformative impact of their work. Sharon shared the story of a young Queensland family who own a cattle property located between Mt Isa and Hughenden, whose young son required bilateral cochlear implants.
Previously, they faced 8-hour trips to Townsville, spending up to four days away from their farm for treatment. Thanks to Hear and Say’s telehealth services, the family now receives vital listening and spoken language support remotely, significantly reducing the strain on their livelihood.
Why Fundraising Matters
The demand for speech pathology and audiology services across Queensland is immense, and there aren’t enough resources to meet the need. Fundraising events like Loud Shirt Day, that the GB-Art Show is part of, are critical in helping Hear and Say bridge this gap. The funds raised enable Hear and Say to extend their reach, providing one-on-one, face-to-face support in rural and remote communities where access to these services is limited.

Cost: $15 (donated to Hear and Say)
Includes 2 x drinks and 3 x raffle tickets. Additional drinks and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
