What I love most about architecture is the problem solving component. Developing a great solution for competing objectives to achieve the ideal client outcome. I really enjoy achieving a solution to a problem, be that a design concept that portrays the intent of the project, a layout for a tricky set of spaces or a construction detail to resolve an issue on-site.
Patrick Smardon is our Practice Defence Lead, an Associate, and a highly experienced Senior Architect. For nearly a decade, Patrick has worked across the defence, corrections, courts, education, health, and residential sectors, managing both small and large-scale government projects from concept to completion. Patrick also enjoys working on projects that demonstrate a social benefit and make strides to address social inequality.

Outside of work Patrick enjoys playing team sports and tabletop games, and spending time with friends and family.
