Chelsea Heights Primary School

Guymer Bailey were engaged to upgrade the Administration and main teaching building of Chelsea Heights Primary School, located in Melbourne’s south-east suburbs. The revitalisation of the school, which caters to 470 students from Prep to Grade 6, has been designed to provide greater space and facilities for the growing school community.

Classrooms have been reshaped into clusters of two, with layouts utilising operable walls that enable collaborative class teaching opportunities or larger areas for events. Each cluster connects to a central breakout space that opens onto an external landscaped learning area near playgrounds and nature play zones.

The Administration’s internal layout has been reconfigured to include professional areas for staff and teachers that are separate from the teaching spaces. The school’s street façade has also been modernised, with the project addressing front-of-house security issues, facelifts to the STEM room and student toilet blocks, and new fixtures to revitalise existing aged facilities.
