Morayfield Social Housing Development
GB-A was engaged to develop the concept and schematic design of a three-storey apartment building at Morayfield, featuring 22 two-bedroom units. This project addresses the critical need for safe and dignified housing in Queensland, providing residents with a secure and comfortable environment amidst the ongoing housing crisis.
The design prioritises privacy and security while fostering a sense of community. Each apartment transitions seamlessly from private living spaces to shared areas, offering gentle opportunities for connection among residents. Generous natural light, fresh air, and thoughtfully integrated greenery create moments of calm and wellbeing, even within a compact setting.
Sustainability and innovation were key aspects of the project. The building incorporates passive design principles, such as natural ventilation and energy-efficient materials, to reduce environmental impact and enhance comfort. Green spaces and landscaping are designed to support biodiversity and provide tranquil outdoor areas for residents to enjoy. Together, these features create a respectful and nurturing environment that promotes wellbeing and community connection.
